From The Beginning
I have loved Greg Lake's singing and bass playing ever since I first heard ELP and King Crimson at the age of thirteen! It's a great privilege to be performing his music in Lucky Man. I first saw Greg on stage with his phenomenal band featuring Gary Moore AND Ted McKenna, at the Great Hall at Exeter University. I was privileged to go backstage after the gig, and I met Greg and his band! Little did I know that just a few years later I would be playing bass in Ted McKenna's own band with my friend Julian Hutson-Saxby on guitar! I think it's amazing that Greg and I both played bass with Ted! That's a very special link to him for me!
We want to recreate some of the energy that that extra-special band had on stage! We look forward to meeting you at a Lucky Man gig in the future and we trust you'll ENJOY THE SHOW! " Alex Bowler

Meet The Band

Alex Bowler - Vocals/Bass Guitar
No stranger to the world of rock music, Alex was the bass player in McKenna's Gold, the band led by the legendary Scottish rock drummer Ted McKenna (Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rory Gallagher, Greg Lake, Ian Gillan, Michael Schenker Group) and also played bass in Cliff Moore's Heroes. With his dynamic, precise and melodic bass playing and smooth and heartfelt vocals, he fits the bill well to perform the music of Greg Lake!

Julian Hutson-Saxby - Guitar
Julian has built up a reputation of being one of the best rock guitarists in Britain! As well as being the guitarist in McKenna's Gold, he was also in Nina Hagen's band and the reformed Sensational Alex Harvey Band! Greatly inspired by the guitar legend Gary Moore since his teens, he makes the ideal choice for Lucky Man!

David Churchyard - Keyboards/Vocals
Well-known for his superb keyboard playing, David was greatly influenced and inspired by Jon Lord of Deep Purple but has a flair all of his own! He brings just the right touch to the keyboards in LUCKY MAN and is sure to delight audiences with his playing!
